Fractional leadership

A senior digital leader,
a few days a month.

I step into companies that need senior platform and digital leadership but aren't ready to hire a full-time director. You get 15 years of experience across strategy, modernization, and team building, without the headcount, the ramp, or the long commitment.

Platform & digital leadership for brands including

  • Huggies
  • Kleenex
  • Cinnabon
  • Auntie Anne's
  • Chick-fil-A

01What I do

Where I'm most useful

Engagements are shaped around what you need. Most land somewhere across these.

Platform & digital strategy

I map where your platform is headed and the steps to get there, with a roadmap your team can follow instead of a deck that gets filed away.

Modernization & re-platforming

Moving off aging systems without grinding the business to a halt. Headless and composable CMS, re-platforming, and the careful sequencing that keeps everything running while you do it.

Engineering team leadership

Standing up teams, hiring, mentoring, and setting the bar for how the work gets done, so the team keeps running well after I step out.

AI enablement

Finding the places where AI moves your team faster and putting it to work, with a practical eye rather than hype.

Delivery & oversight

Keeping scope, timelines, and the awkward questions in view early, so problems surface before a deadline slips rather than after.

Stakeholders & vendors

Translating between executives, engineers, and outside agencies so everyone is building the same thing.

02Who it's for

Sound familiar?

  • You're scaling, and the engineering team has outgrown the leadership it has.
  • A modernization or re-platform is looming and no one really owns it.
  • You want a senior voice in the room for strategy, hiring, and vendor calls, without taking on a full-time salary.
  • A full-time director is months away, and the work can't wait that long.

03How it works

Simple to start

Light to set up, easy to adjust, and never a contract you're locked into.

01

Intro call

A half hour to hear what's going on and whether I'm the right fit. No pitch.

02

Scope

We agree on focus, a rough monthly time commitment, and what good looks like.

03

Embed

I work inside your team, in standups, planning, and the day to day, as one of your own.

04

Adjust

Month to month. Scale up when it's busy, down when it's quiet, stop when the work is done.

Amy Turrin

04Background

Most recently I was Associate Director of Digital Platforms at Kimberly-Clark, running a $5M portfolio and leading teams of up to 70 across web delivery for brands like Huggies and Kleenex.

Before that, digital platform leadership across Focus Brands (Cinnabon, Auntie Anne's) and Chick-fil-A. 15 years of headless CMS modernization, AI enablement, mobile delivery, and the team-building that makes any of it last. That's the experience I bring to a fractional seat, at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire.

05Questions

The usual questions

A few things people tend to ask before we talk. Anything else, just send it over.

How many hours a month does an engagement run?

Most land between 15 and 25 hours a month. We agree on a number up front and adjust it as the work ebbs and flows. If you just want a few hours to talk through a decision, we can do that too.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a week or two of our first call, depending on what you need and how fast we can scope it.

What does the commitment look like?

Month to month, with 30 days notice on either side. I'd rather earn the next month than lock you into a year.

Do you work remotely or on-site?

Remote-first from the Maine coast, and I travel when an engagement calls for it. Most of the work happens in your standups, planning, and Slack.

What kind of companies is this a fit for?

Growing teams that need senior digital and platform leadership but aren't ready to hire a full-time director. Often mid-market companies or scaling startups partway through a modernization.

When is it not the right fit?

If you need someone hands-on in the codebase full time, or it's a single one-off task, fractional probably isn't the shape you want. I'm glad to point you somewhere better.

06Start a conversation

If that's where you are, let's talk.

Tell me a little about your team and what's on your plate. The first call is just a conversation.
